Statistics prove that the percentage of prisoners rearrested drops dramatically from 61% to 14% when they are involved in an effective prison ministry during their incarceration.

For a prison ministry to be effective, congregations need to become involved and motivated.  Reach Out In Hope would like to help provide that motivation through “Conversations With God From Jail.”

In her one-woman play Tracey Brown provides a thorough “inside-out” view of prison life and the importance of a church-sponsored prison ministry not only in the larger prisons but also in local jails.

From the thundering clang of the hollow steel jail door slamming to the sound of the lock falling in place, the audience is brought into the world of inmate Tracey Brown through the sounds of freedom lost.

With simple props and a fruitful imagination, Tracey Brown draws directly from the pages of her latest book “I Found My Father In A Women’s Prison” to bring you into what was her world in a Southern prison with “Conversations With God From Jail.”

With each conversation she has you sense her relationship with God growing stronger each day as the rest of the world around her falls apart.  You are allowed to experience with her as she relates the stories of many of the female inmates and guards that God puts in her path and why.

Tracey mixes her love of God with humor, conviction, passion and poetry to create this one-woman, two-act inspiring story of a woman’s celebration of the power of God to transform any situation into an opportunity to witness for Him and then be able to consider it a blessing, even in prison.

Venues include worship services, in-prison program, special programs, conferences, retreats, and outreach events.
