I STOPPED AND SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU

I stopped and said a prayer for you

‘Cause you were on my mind.

I prayed all your trouble, cares and woes

Would soon be far behind.

I prayed that God would give you strength

For all the tough times ahead.

I prayed for the peace that only He can give

When you put yourself to bed.

I prayed that you’d be surrounded

With friends as wonderful as you.

To help you past the rough times

And be there to see you through.

I stopped and said a prayer for you

And will forever more.

That God will pour out His blessings on you

And amaze you with all He has in store.

So, as you go from day to day.

And you feel a warm tug at your heart.

You’ll know I stopped and said a prayer for you

Whether we’re near or far apart.
